Dumfries and Galloway Advocacy Service

Dumfries and Galloway Advocacy Service provide independent one to one and collective advocacy for adults (aged 18+) in the following groups:

  • mental ill health
  • learning disability
  • autism
  • dementia
  • carers
  • adult support and protection
  • self-directed support
  • adults who have generic issues such as with the NHS (incl. Acute and Community Hospitals and GPs), Social Services, Families at Risk (incl. Children’s Hearings, Reviews and Child Protection), Older People’s issues, Physical Disabilities, Education, Housing, and more.

Our service delivers independent, individual and collective advocacy to adults aged 18 and over. We provide independent advocacy to people with a mental disorder in accordance with the requirements of the Mental Health (Care & Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 and to adults who have generic issues such as with the NHS incl. Acute, Community, GPs etc, Social Services, Adult Support and Protection, Self-Directed Support, Carers Issues, Families at Risk incl. Children’s Hearings, Reviews and Child Protection.
