Dumfries and Galloway Advocacy Service provide individual issue-based and collective independent advocacy to people aged 18+ who reside in Dumfries and Galloway.
This includes the following:
- people with mental ill health
- people with learning disability
- autistic people
- unpaid carers
- young people (18-25)
They specialise in supporting adults subject to measures under the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 and those subject to the guardianship process under the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000. They also specialise in supporting people going through self-directed support 13ZA cases.
