Advocacy Service Aberdeen (ASA) provide individual issue-based independent advocacy to adults aged 16+ and reside in Aberdeen City who:
- experience mental illness
- have a learning disability
- are autistic
- use drugs and/or alcohol
- unpaid carers
- are open to Adult Support and Protection (ASP) proceedings
- experience domestic abuse
- qualify for Self Directed Support (SDS).
They provide individual issue-based independent advocacy to children and young people who are autistic. They also support children and young people going through children’s hearings.
They provide non-instructed advocacy to adults.
ASA provide collective advocacy to people based at the Royal Cornhill Hospital, and those living in a care setting.
They specialise supporting people in domestic abuse cases and experiencing mental illness.
