Advocacy North East provide individual issue-based independent advocacy to people aged 16+ who ordinarily reside in Aberdeenshire, even if they receive treatment elsewhere. This includes carers, and people residing in HMP YOI Grampian.
They provide non-instructed advocacy to adults.
They provide collective independent advocacy on as-needed basis for people across health and social care settings.
They prioritise supporting subject to compulsory measures under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003; adults subject to the guardianship process under the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000; adults subject to measures under the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 – especially in cases where individual’s liberty is at risk.
