The ERCS (Environmental Rights Centre for Scotland) supports individuals and communities to use their environmental rights to protect the environment, tackle climate change, and improve local biodiversity and greenspaces for health and wellbeing.

Since everyone in Scotland deserves to live in a healthy environment, the ERCS has recently launched a petition for an enforceable human right to a healthy environment.

The Scottish Government wants to include the human right to a healthy environment in law. The task now is to make sure the right is enforceable, so that public bodies and polluters respect it and we can take them to court if they do not.

SIAA has already signed the petition and would like to invite others to join in.

You can find the petition on ERCS’s website.
