‘Independent Advocacy in prisons’ peer support session with Chris Johnston, Prison Monitoring Co-ordinator

Led by our members Forth Valley Advocacy the ‘Independent Advocacy in prisons’ peer support sessions give advocacy workers the opportunity to discuss a range of topics, including advocacy issues, security measures and additional training for advocacy workers. Participants are invited to share their experiences and create a positive support system for advocacy workers involved in Prison Advocacy.

The group meets monthly and the next meeting will take place on Tuesday 2 May from 2 to 3 pm. Chris Johnston, Prison Monitoring Co-ordinator from HM Inspectorate of Prisons for Scotland will join this session to talk about Independent Prison Monitoring and the cross-over with Independent Advocacy.
