Some SIAA member organisations may be aware that SCVO have been working for a few years now on their Fair Funding calls and, following the Scottish Government’s commitment to Fairer Funding by 2026.

Fair Funding is central to a sustainable voluntary sector in Scotland. It includes, but is not limited
to, longer-term funding of three years or more, flexible unrestricted funding, timely payments,
more accessible application processes, sustainable funding which incorporates inflation-based
uplifts, and transparent approaches to monitoring and reporting.

As well as the influencing and policy work that SCVO have been carrying out around this topic they are supporting this with a new resource pack providing policy asks, consistency messaging, and other useful resources that could be used by organisations to call for Fair Funding in their work.

SIAA know from our recent Sustainability of Independent Advocacy Report that Fair Funding is a significant issue for independent advocacy organisations so hope this resource from SCVO will be useful in discussions with your local and national funders.

The resource includes:

  • What is Fair Funding?
  • Key Lines & Asks
  • Scottish Government Commitments
  • Useful Facts & Stats
  • Common Concerns, Questions & Pushbacks
  • Useful Links & Resources
  • Example Case Studies
