SIAA has published an Easy Read version of the Independent Advocacy Principles, Standards and Code of Best Practice.
Easy Read is a format that makes written information easier to understand by including short sentences with pictures.
The Independent Advocacy Principles, Standards and Code of Best Practice is a key document for independent advocacy that was published in 2019 and recognises that all independent advocacy organisations share the same principles. It has been developed to be used across Scotland, to safeguard that independent advocacy is being delivered consistently and is of the highest possible standard.
Since SIAA’s role includes raising awareness and understanding of independent advocacy nationally, developing accessible documents helps us ensure that everyone who needs independent advocacy get hold of this information.
