SIAA is seeking to recruit two new Trustees to bring energy, enthusiasm, and commitment, along with their specific skills to offer different perspectives, increase our diversity and strengthen our Board. This is an exciting opportunity for the right people to contribute to the future of independent advocacy across Scotland.
Who are we looking for?
SIAA aims to have a Board that represents the diversity within Scotland and within the SIAA membership. We are particularly keen to hear from people that work or volunteer within independent advocacy, or part of a collective advocacy group, to strengthen and support our existing Board, in realising our charitable objectives and strategic priorities.
The following gaps have been identified within the current Board:
- A member from the Islands or North West of Scotland; and
- A member with fundraising, marketing and/or digital skills.

Applicants will also be invited to an online meeting with our CEO, Suzanne Swinton, week commencing Monday 4 November (dates and times TBC).
Applications received will be considered by members at the AGM to be held online at the revised time of 10 am to 12 noon on Wednesday 27 November 2024.

Meet the SIAA Board
A ‘Meet the Board’ session will be held remotely on Zoom on Tuesday 15 October and Thursday 17 October, both between 11 am and 12 noon, to give prospective applicants an opportunity to raise any questions they may have and to chat with current Trustees about their experience of sitting on the SIAA Board before submitting their application.
