Dear SIAA members,
It is with regret that I write to inform you that Shaben Begum will not be returning to her post as Director of the SIAA.
Shaben has been instrumental in promoting and defending independent advocacy for over 20 years and has tirelessly campaigned to ensure that our voice and the rights of the people we support are heard.
The Board of Trustees wish to thank Shaben for her service within the SIAA and to the broader independent advocacy movement across Scotland. We all wish Shaben the very best for the future.
The SIAA will be advertising for a new CEO in the coming weeks and in the meantime, operational continuity is provided by our interim director and support staff.
