The Advocacy Project provide individual issue-based independent advocacy to adults aged 16+ who reside in Glasgow and East Renfrewshire, including those residing in HMP Barlinnie.

They support people who:

  • have mental ill health;
  • have learning disabilities;
  • are neurodivergent;
  • have a physical/sensory disabilities;
  • use substances (drug and alcohol);
  • have impaired decision-making capacity for any reason.

They provide non-instructed independent advocacy to adults.

They prioritise supporting people whose rights or liberty are restricted or at risk in health and social care settings.
