The Advocacy Project provide individual issue-based independent advocacy to adults aged 16+ who reside in Glasgow and East Renfrewshire, including those residing in HMP Barlinnie.
They support people who:
- have mental ill health;
- have learning disabilities;
- are neurodivergent;
- have a physical/sensory disabilities;
- use substances (drug and alcohol);
- have impaired decision-making capacity for any reason.
They provide non-instructed independent advocacy to adults.
They prioritise supporting people whose rights or liberty are restricted or at risk in health and social care settings.
