Ceartas Advocacy provide individual issue-based independent advocacy to adults aged 16+ who reside in East Dunbartonshire and have/are:
- mental ill health
- learning disability
- dementia
- acquired brain injury
- physical or sensory disability
- autistic people
- older people
- use alcohol and/or substances
They also provide collective independent advocacy for people who have mental ill health and use drugs and alcohol.
They prioritise supporting adults with a right to access independent advocacy as per the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003; adults subject to the guardianship process under the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000; adults subject to measures under the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.
They provide non-instructed independent advocacy to adults.
