Peer support: Collective Advocacy
October 23 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
This Zoom session is a chance to connect, share knowledge, and exchange experiences with colleagues facing similar challenges. It’s intended for collective advocacy workers and their managers working across Scotland. It’s a community of practice, focusing on ins and outs of working with groups.
This is a recurring meeting that will take place every 6 weeks.
Examples of topics we discussed so far:
- Group dynamics and power relations
- Role of visual and tangible tools
- Managing strong emotions and unproductive behaviours
- Creativity
- Work-life balance
- Reflective practice and how it helps to go through “catastrophic events”
The discussion is always grounded in a recent piece of work that one of the participants brings to the session.
Any resources shared by participants will be sent in a follow-up email.
Ground rules co-created by the Group will be in place during each meeting. They are available here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-Ew5uR_72–M7FotkgtaP2Geh1ntFPea0Df7s4-MzeI/edit?usp=sharing
