Dundee Independent Advocacy Support (DIAS)

Dundee Independent Advocacy Support provide individual issue-based independent advocacy to people aged 21+who reside in Dundee, in the following groups (diagnosis is not required):

  • mental ill health
  • learning disability
  • neurodiversity
  • physical disability
  • people over age 65
  • dementia
  • substance use – drug and alcohol

They provide non-instructed independent advocacy to adults.

They provide collective independent advocacy to patients at Strathmartine Hospital and Cygnet residencies.

The organisation prioritises supporting individuals going through mental health tribunals, Adult Support and Protection and Guardianship processes, hospital discharge, referrals from Multiagency Consultation Hub and Rehab Pathway in substance use contexts.

They specialise in supporting people who use substances and people in care settings.
