SIAA Roundtable – Independent Advocacy & Youth Justice (2)

SIAA held a very successful roundtable with members and the Children and Young People’s Centre for Justice (CYCJ), in February to discuss youth justice and independent advocacy.

We’re delighted to invite you to a follow up roundtable taking place on Thursday 12 August, from 2-3.30 pm.

We aim to have further discussions about practical ways that we can work in partnership with each other and embed independent advocacy in the systems and processes for children coming into conflict with the law, to ensure they have their rights upheld.

We will hear from Donna McEwan (CYCJ) on Secure Care Standards and Youth Justice Standards, with particular focus on participation and the link to human rights and independent advocacy. There will also be lots of time for input from members to share experiences and identify next steps.
