Defining Quality in Scottish Independent Advocacy: Report Launch
September 25 @ 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm
We are delighted to invite you to a lunchtime webinar to launch our latest research report: Defining Quality in Scottish Independent Advocacy.
We often talk about “quality” in independent advocacy – but what does that really mean?
In this lunchtime session, we’ll present the findings of our newest research, which aimed to explore and articulate what “quality” looks like in the context of independent advocacy in Scotland. The data was gathered during a workshop at the 2024 SIAA Conference and later analysed thematically. The resulting insights have been conceptualised as key “pillars” that form the foundation of quality in independent advocacy.
This webinar is open to all stakeholders in the independent advocacy sector: Advocacy Partners, staff and trustees at SIAA member organisations, commissioners, policymakers, and colleagues across the third sector. One of the key findings of the research (spoiler alert!) is that achieving and sustaining quality is a shared responsibility, with each stakeholder playing a distinct and important role. We hope this session will help strengthen collaboration across the sector and support conversations with a shared understanding and language around quality in independent advocacy.
There will be opportunities to share feedback on the report and discuss potential next steps.
Following the session, we’ll share the full report along with an executive summary.
