Peer Learn: Reaching Our Communities (Part 2)
29 January 2026 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Join other SIAA members for an interactive discussion-based session designed to explore the challenges of community engagement within the independent advocacy sector.
This is Part 2 of our “Reaching Our Communities” peer learning series, where we’ll build on insights from Part 1 and dive deeper into practical strategies for overcoming engagement barriers.
Didn’t attend Part 1? No problem! You’re still welcome to join. For extra context, you can review the slides from the first session, where we mapped out communities we’re trying to reach based on their identities and characteristics, and outlined some of the barriers they might be experiencing.
In Part 2, we will:
- Reflect on current engagement and outreach activities
- Co-create solutions that address common engagement barriers
- Explore partnerships and resources that can strengthen engagement efforts
The main workshop will run for 1 hour, which will be followed by a 30-minute engagement clinic, where you can seek advice on your specific challenge and learn from peers.
This is a space for collective learning, where participants can share real-world challenges and learn from one another. The session will be especially valuable for collective advocacy workers, development workers, and anyone working to improve engagement with underserved or hard-to-reach groups.
