DESCRIPTION:SIAA held a very successful roundtable with members and the Children and Young People’s Centre for Justice (CYCJ)\, in February to discuss youth justice and independent advocacy. \nWe’re delighted to invite you to a follow up roundtable taking place on Thursday 12 August\, from 2-3.30 pm. \nWe aim to have further discussions about practical ways that we can work in partnership with each other and embed independent advocacy in the systems and processes for children coming into conflict with the law\, to ensure they have their rights upheld. \nWe will hear from Donna McEwan (CYCJ) on Secure Care Standards and Youth Justice Standards\, with particular focus on participation and the link to human rights and independent advocacy.
