The Freedom of Information Act has given everyone, for the first time, a legal right of access to information held by over 100,000 public bodies. You can ask for any or all of the information they have on any subject you choose. The Act is retrospective, so applies to historical documentation as well as that generated since it was enacted. You can also ask for all the personal information they hold on you. It normally takes 20 working days to process FOI requests.
