EVENTS

The Scottish Health Council Event

The Scottish Health Council is holding an event entitled  Participation and Health: 2020 Vision which will be held 16th  & 17th  February 2010.  The event will include a varied mix of speakers, providing both Scottish and international perspectives, on current and future issues relating to participation, and there will be lively discussion about the way forward.  Places at this event are limited and demand is likely to be high, so you are encouraged to register your interest in attending as soon as possible.

The Healthcare Quality Strategy for Scotland aspires to make Scotland one of the leading countries in the world in healthcare quality.  Work has already started to ensure that we have a mutual NHS, where ownership and accountability is shared with the people of Scotland and NHS staff.

The main themes include:

·        Citizenship and health

·        Health and social care: a shared agenda

·        Person-centred services

·        Public involvement

The event will give NHS staff, Public Partnership Forum and community representatives and other stakeholders a chance to debate the issues, and share ideas and experiences on what needs to happen to drive the participation agenda forward.  The programme includes key speakers from Italy, Northern Ireland and Australia.

There will be no cost for attending this event.  For more information about the event, please contact Linda Young, Events & Publicity Officer, by telephone on 0141 225 5557 or by email on linda.young@scottishhealthcouncil.org.
